About this area of care
Precise diagnostics are the foundation of an individual health pathway
Good self-care begins with accurate facts. At CALENDULA, diagnostics are not a standard checklist of tests, but a considered pathway from the first conversation with a doctor to a clear personal strategy. We combine clinical assessment, laboratory tests and modern instrumental investigations to identify important risk factors and determine next steps without testing for its own sake.
At the initial consultation, the doctor reviews your concerns, medical and family history, current medicines and existing results. A structured diagnostic pathway is then developed according to age, your body’s condition and the medical question.
Technologies that support informed decisions
Video endoscopy — Olympus EVIS EXERA III
HDTV imaging helps the doctor examine the mucous membrane in detail. Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) and Dual Focus allow closer assessment of suspicious areas and, where necessary, selection of sites for targeted biopsy. The doctor determines the type of investigation and the extent of additional procedures.
Ultrasound diagnostics — Samsung HS40
This versatile ultrasound system is used to examine abdominal organs, the thyroid, pelvis, soft tissues, joints and muscles, depending on medical indications and the probes installed.
Doppler ultrasound helps assess the direction and characteristics of blood flow in vessels. Echocardiography examines heart chamber dimensions, valves, myocardial contractility and blood flow measures. The precise scope of examination depends on the clinical question.
Segmental body composition analysis — InBody 270S
Bioimpedance analysis assesses muscle and fat mass, water distribution, visceral fat and phase angle. These data help the doctor adjust nutrition and physical activity more precisely, monitor recovery and assess a possible risk of age-related loss of muscle mass. The examination does not replace clinical diagnosis of sarcopenia.
Bone ultrasound screening — Sonost 3000
Examination of the heel bone uses no X-ray radiation and provides a preliminary assessment of bone condition and osteoporosis risk. If a risk is identified, the doctor may recommend further examination using DXA.
Cardiac diagnostics
ECG records the heart’s electrical activity and may detect rhythm disturbances and other changes requiring medical interpretation. Ergometry and treadmill testing assess cardiac function under measured exercise and, when indicated, help investigate exercise tolerance, symptoms, possible ischaemic changes or arrhythmias. Results are considered when selecting safe physical activity.
Visual skin assessment — Observ 320
Several LED lighting modes help visualise skin texture, pigmentation, redness and external signs of changes in firmness. Images are used to personalise care and compare before-and-after changes. The examination complements, but does not replace, a dermatologist’s assessment.
Laboratory and genetic investigations
Laboratory diagnostics. Depending on the individual medical question, tests may include general clinical and biochemical analyses, a coagulation profile, a lipid profile, liver and kidney function markers, inflammation markers, glucose, HbA1c, insulin and hormonal tests. Tumour markers are used only for specific indications, not as a universal screening test for cancer.
Genetic investigations. According to personal and family history, the doctor may consider tests for inherited cardiovascular and cancer risks, pharmacogenetics, nutrigenetics and metabolic characteristics. A result indicates probability or predisposition, not that a condition will necessarily develop. Test selection and interpretation are performed by the relevant specialist.
Assessment of age-related changes
A comprehensive assessment may include body composition, metabolic and hormonal profiles, possible deficiencies, bone and skin condition, and cardiovascular risk factors. No single test determines biological age on its own: the doctor compares several measures and interprets them in the context of your health.
Your diagnostic consultation — focusing on what matters
- Your doctor takes time to listen to your concerns and review your medical records.
- They plan the investigations you need, without unnecessary procedures or repeat tests.
- They explain your results in clear, everyday language.
- They offer a structured plan for monitoring, treatment or prevention at the clinic and at home.
Diagnostics may be a service in its own right or the first stage of a CALENDULA programme. The final scope of investigations is determined after consultation, considering indications and contraindications.
