About this service

Personalised support with weight, appetite and physical fitness

Regaining weight after dieting often leaves a sense that there was a great deal of effort but no sustainable plan. At CALENDULA, obesity treatment begins with understanding the factors that affect your body weight specifically: appetite regulation, metabolism, sleep, medicines and everyday routine.

Obesity is a chronic disease, not simply a matter of willpower. Adipose tissue is connected with hormonal and metabolic processes; it is particularly important to assess fat accumulation around the abdomen and associated risks. At the same time, preserving muscle strength and mobility remains part of weight management.

This service combines medical care, personalised nutrition, physical rehabilitation and suitable restorative Ayurvedic methods. The aim is to develop a workable weight-management strategy that can be maintained after the course.

Who this service is for

  • For obesity or excess body weight with associated risks.
  • For repeated weight regain after restrictive diets.
  • For difficulties with appetite and the need to review eating habits.
  • For reduced activity, sleep disturbance or hormonal issues accompanying weight changes.
  • For those who need support with nutrition and movement while receiving prescribed obesity treatment.

Medical assessment and strategy

Weight history. The doctor discusses previous attempts to reduce weight, eating behaviour, sleep, activity and medication. Movement limitations and possible eating disorders are taken into account.

Metabolic assessment. Weight and body composition, waist circumference, blood pressure, and carbohydrate and lipid metabolism are considered together. Additional endocrine, liver and kidney investigations are selected according to the clinical question.

Medical care. Where indicated, modern treatments for obesity are discussed, including medicines that affect appetite. The plan may require long-term follow-up; timing and changes in therapy are determined individually.

Personal priorities. The focus is not only on weight loss but also on preserving muscle function, tolerating the diet and being able to maintain the selected routine in everyday life.

Individual programme

Nutrition. An individual diet taking glycaemic load, food tolerance and daily routine into account. Attention is given to adequate protein, dietary variety and realistic changes to habits at home.

Movement. Therapeutic exercise and suitable activity for strength and mobility. Yoga and qigong are adapted to physical condition and joint health.

Medical support. Monitoring of wellbeing, appetite, tolerance of prescribed measures and changes in body composition. Treatment and follow-up plans are adjusted where necessary.

Phytotherapy and digestion. Individual Calendula Pharma formulations are selected with current medication and digestive tolerance in mind. Work on diet and food reactions helps make nutrition more sustainable.

Ayurvedic component. Suitable elements of Panchakarma and oil and massage procedures with preparation and recovery. The traditional concepts of Agni and Ama describe the Ayurvedic view of digestion and metabolism; procedures are used as a complement, not as a stand-alone treatment for obesity.

Sleep and physical recovery. Work on rest routine, gentle practices, massage and suitable physiotherapy. Metameric and other local methods are considered for separate complaints.

The content and duration of the course are determined after the initial examination, taking indications, contraindications and current treatment into account. Changes in body weight are assessed together with body composition and wellbeing, without promising a specific number of kilograms lost.

Programme goals and final consultation

You receive a personalised plan for nutrition, activity and medical support, self-monitoring criteria and follow-up timing. The outcome of the course is a well-founded strategy for continued weight management, rather than a short-term dietary restriction that is difficult to maintain at home.
