About the programme

Personalised care for sleep difficulties, stress and recovery

When it is difficult to release tension in the evening, sleep is interrupted at night and you do not feel rested in the morning, a change of scenery alone may not be enough. CALENDULA’s Nervous system and sleep programme helps identify the reasons for poor recovery and select a combination of medical care, body treatments and everyday practices.

The approach centres on the connection between sleep and the autonomic nervous system, which helps regulate pulse, blood pressure, digestion and responses to strain. Prolonged stress and muscular tension can sustain a feeling of constant readiness for action and make relaxation difficult. Similar symptoms can also occur in different illnesses, so the programme begins with a medical assessment.

Medical care is combined with Ayurveda, acupuncture, personalised herbal support and learning a calmer daily routine. The aim is to select recovery methods that suit your condition and can become part of life after the course.

Who the programme is for

  • For difficulty falling asleep, night-time awakenings and feeling insufficiently rested.
  • For accumulated fatigue, stress and muscular tension.
  • For reduced concentration and performance associated with poor sleep.
  • When these concerns occur alongside palpitations or blood pressure fluctuations, after their causes have been assessed.

Medical assessment and strategy

Review of sleep and lifestyle. The doctor asks when the difficulties began, how your day is structured and which demands, stimulants and medicines may affect rest. Emotional wellbeing, chronic pain and previous treatment are considered.

Symptom-led examination. ECG, blood pressure and heart rhythm monitoring, laboratory tests and other investigations are selected for the specific clinical question. Heart rate variability may be used as an additional monitoring measure but does not replace clinical assessment.

Choosing care. If sleep apnoea or another separate condition is suspected, specialist investigation is arranged. Chronic insomnia may require specialised treatment, including cognitive behavioural therapy; the doctor discusses an appropriate care pathway.

Recovery strategy. Work on routine, muscular tension, nutrition and evening habits is complemented by suitable treatments. Sleeping tablets and other medicines are reviewed only on medical grounds, together with the prescribing specialist where necessary.

The 7-, 14- and 21-day courses each have their own assessment, programme and final consultation. Treatments are determined at the initial examination. Nasya and internal Panchakarma methods are assessed separately; they are not mandatory treatments for insomnia.

Sleep assessment and tension relief

A one-week course to begin exploring the causes of poor sleep and find a recovery routine that suits you. It combines medical assessment, individual treatments and practices you can learn to use at home.

Medical care. Consultation, necessary examinations, medication review and monitoring of sleep, blood pressure and wellbeing.

Body treatments. Abhyanga is an oil body massage; Shirodhara applies warm oil to the forehead; Padabhyanga is foot massage. Head, neck and shoulder massage, marma therapy and gentle muscle relaxation.

Additional methods. Acupuncture, herbal baths, suitable dry carbon dioxide baths or Zalmanov baths, and gentle Kneipp hydrotherapy. The required combination is chosen according to cardiovascular health.

Practices and nutrition. Qigong, pranayama breathing, yoga nidra — conscious relaxation — sound therapy and halotherapy. An individual menu with sufficient protein and a review of evening stimulants; herbal formulations for sleep are selected with the main treatment in mind.

Ayurvedic care. Where separately justified, Nasya — administering preparations through the nose — and oil and herbal Vasti treatments are discussed. Their suitability depends on the person’s condition and risks, not the length of stay.

Course goals and final consultation. Assess sleep and daytime wellbeing, select suitable relaxation methods and determine further management. You receive recommendations for routines, home practices and medical follow-up.

Sleep and muscle recovery

Two weeks to observe your sleep over a longer period and address physical tension. The course begins with its own diagnostic assessment and concludes with a complete plan for ongoing support.

Medical care. Initial consultation, tests when indicated, and assessment of changes in sleep and treatment tolerance.

Body treatments. Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Padabhyanga, neck and shoulder massage, and Udvartanam herbal powder massage. Gentle manual work and post-isometric relaxation aim to relax tense muscles. Pressotherapy is used when separately indicated.

Ayurveda and reflexotherapy. Acupuncture, gua sha, marma therapy, suitable Svedana steam treatments, herbal baths and Kneipp hydrotherapy. Nasya and internal Vasti methods are considered separately.

Practices. Yoga nidra, gentle yoga, qigong, pranayama, sound therapy and a salt room when well tolerated. Sessions help you learn accessible ways to reduce evening strain.

Nutrition and herbal support. A diet tailored to you, personalised CALENDULA laboratory formulations and traditional Rasayana remedies, with checks for compatibility with medicines.

Course goals and final consultation. Review sleep quality, daytime activity and muscular tension together. You receive a manageable recovery routine and recommendations for further treatment if needed.

Sleep routines and sustained recovery

Three weeks provide more time for observation, adjusting activity and learning habits that support rest. Examinations, treatments and the final consultation form one complete cycle.

Medical care. Assessment of symptom causes and current treatment, necessary investigations and monitoring of changes. If symptoms persist, we clarify which specialist care you may need next.

Body treatments. Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Padabhyanga, Udvartanam, gua sha, gentle manual therapy and muscle relaxation. Acupuncture and suitable pressotherapy complement the personalised plan.

Rest and practices. Yoga nidra, breathing exercises, qigong, sound therapy, warm herbal baths, Kneipp hydrotherapy and halotherapy. Aromatherapy is used according to tolerance; internal Ayurvedic treatments require a separate assessment.

Nutrition and daily rhythm. A personalised menu and work on meal routines, caffeine and evening demands. Herbal formulations and Rasayana are coordinated with the medical part of the course.

Course goals and final consultation. Assess sleep, daytime performance and tolerance of the chosen routine. You receive a plan for home practices and follow-up. Results vary individually; treatment for chronic insomnia may extend beyond your stay.
