The price of shockwave therapy depends on the treatment plan, which our doctors will tailor depending on the patient's medical history and current condition. The price of shockwave therapy varies, and the price of a treatment for an outpatient visit is HUF 14.060. We can offer you an exact price after a medical consultation, so please make an appointment by phone or in writing with our staff.

Shockwave therapy consists of at least 5 treatments. The treatment plan is personalised, but a minimum of a few weeks of treatment is required for long-term results. In most cases, there are 5-10 treatments, repeated at 5-7 day intervals, with at least two days between each treatment. Shockwave treatments are given with increasingly intense shockwaves to increase the stress on the tissue, thereby also strengthening the beneficial effects in the tissue.

A treatment usually lasts 15-20 minutes, and you can leave the office and go about your daily routine without a care in the world.

The success of shockwave therapy depends largely on the shockwave therapy device. At the Calendula Clinic, the treatment is carried out with the Duolith SD1 machine, one of the most modern medical devices in its field. The success of the treatment also depends on the pathology, the frequency and the strength of the shock waves. For successful shockwave therapy, it is necessary to follow the recommended treatment plan, which consists of several sessions of treatment.

We recommend that you book three to four weeks in advance. For end-of-year and early season bookings, we recommend sending your reservation request at least two months in advance. However, if you would like to come to our clinic at any time, please contact our staff, because there can be a vacancy at any time, which can be favourable for a sudden idea-driven booking.

It is possible to receive treatment without prior consultation, but we recommend that our Hungarian patients attend a prior medical consultation. If you have a reservation in our clinic but have not yet had a consultation, you can discuss your treatment needs with our doctors on the day of your arrival, during your first visit, and they can decide together on the therapy depending on your state of health.

During your initial consultation, you will have a detailed discussion and examination, where our doctors will thoroughly assess your condition and health needs. They will then draw up an individual treatment plan for you, including any necessary therapies.

The patient informs the specialist of his/her current medical condition and illnesses during the initial medical consultation. The following contraindications to shock wave therapy are known:

  • previous or current presence of a malignant tumour in the treatment area;
  • pregnancy;
  • severe blood clotting problem, taking anticoagulant medicine;
