How does the block injection help?

Nerves run from the spinal cord to the limbs, and when the „root” of such a nerve, running from the spinal cord, becomes inflamed, pain radiates to the limbs. The block injection targets the „root” of the pain, reducing inflammation and pain.

How does the injection treatment work?

1. The injection block treatment begins with a preliminary consultation, where the doctor conducts a thorough examination and determines the exact cause of the pain. A personalized treatment plan is then created, which includes the injection site and the frequency of treatment repetition. 2. On the day of the treatment, after disinfecting and locally anesthetizing the area, the doctor carefully administers the injection. The treatment is pain-free due to the anesthesia, with only mild discomfort. 3. After the injection is given, the doctor briefly observes the patient. Rest is recommended after the treatment, and the doctor will provide further instructions regarding post-treatment care.

How can the therapeutic block be applied?

The block injection can be applied to several areas of the body, most commonly on the trunk, back, or around the sacral area. The therapeutic block can be applied in different ways:
Spinal block injection – Severe pain in the spine is often associated with pinched spinal nerves. The block specifically targets certain nerve fibers temporarily, blocking their nerve conduction. Local anesthetics are used to inhibit cell conduction.

Heel spur block – Used to relieve inflammation of the plantar fascia. The injection is administered in the middle of the heel tip. The effect is almost immediate.

Joint block – Applied to small and large joints if the pain results from a degenerative process or inflammation. The anesthetic is injected into the joint capsule. This completely eliminates the pain. The effect occurs within minutes and lasts depending on the extent of joint damage (on average, 21 days). The block is then repeated.

Root block – An anesthetic is injected into the area from where the nerve “roots.” This eliminates pain, vascular spasms, muscle tension, inflammation, and swelling.

Sometimes, injections are given not into the joint but into the muscle. This is necessary to reduce the spasm causing the pain. This group includes spinal blocks. Using this technique, the following joints are treated: ankle, hip, wrist, knee, and shoulder.

Igen, az injekció beadását megelőzően helyi érzéstelenítést alkalmazunk, amihez Novocaint, Lidocainumot vagy Marcaint használunk.  

A blokád injekciónak ritkán vannak komoly mellékhatásai. Az injekció beadását követően enyhe kellemetlenség érezhető, mint az injekció helyén jelentkező fájdalom, duzzanat vagy bőrpír. Orvosunk minden esetben részletesen tájékoztatja a pácienst a kezelés előtt.

Az orvos helyi érzéstelenítő alkalmazását követően vékony tűvel megcélozza a fájdalmat okozó specifikus ideget. Az injekció anesztetikumot (ideiglenes fájdalomcsillapítás) és szteroidot (hosszabb távú enyhülés) tartalmaz. A beavatkozás körülbelül 20 percig tart, a páciens egy órával a beavatkozást követően haza mehet.
