Its scientific background is based on the structure of the nerve pathways, which have certain stimulation - acupuncture - points. The stimulation of these points pain-relieving endorphins are produced and the body's ability to regenerate itself is increased. The treatment is healing not only on a physical level, but also on a spiritual level. Acupuncture can also be combined with collagen therapy for musculoskeletal disorders.
How does acupuncture treatment work?
Acupuncture treatment does not require any home preparation or major preparation. On arrival at the clinic, the doctor will determine the areas where the needles will be inserted before the treatment. After disinfecting the areas, a very thin (about 0.2 mm thick) single-use sterile medical needle is inserted into the top layer of the skin. The needle is the thickness of a darker hair.
Up to 10-15 needles are inserted during a treatment, which are not particularly uncomfortable: they cause a slight tingling sensation and warmth. The acupuncture treatment takes about forty minutes from skin disinfection to removal of the needles.
How many acupuncture sessions does a therapy consist of?
The treatments should be used in a course of treatment - with regular repetitions. Depending on the existing problem and the patient's body a course of treatment usually consists of 8-12 treatments, which should be done twice a week. If treatment is longer-term and focused on chronic problems, weekly or monthly treatment may be needed.

Does acupuncture hurt?
Although medical needles are used during acupuncture, they are very thin, so there is no pain, but rather a tingling, tightness and some redness, which is relieved within minutes. During the half-hour period, while the upper layer of the patient's skin is stimulated by the acupuncture needles, he or she will be in a meditative, relaxed state. Afterwards, the removal of the needles is followed by a mild tingling sensation.

How long does a treatment programme last?
An acupuncture treatment usually consists of 8-12 treatments. The frequency of the acupuncture treatments is determined by the doctor depending on the condition you are coming to our clinic with. The frequency of treatment ranges from two treatments a week to one treatment every two weeks or once a month.

Acupuncture treatment has no specific medical contraindications - it is safe to use. Acupuncture can only be performed by a qualified medical practitioner under the law. The patient informs the specialist of his/her current medical condition and illnesses at the latest during the initial medical consultation.
