Women’s health
About the programme
Medical care through menopause, with attention to your wellbeing, intimate comfort and recovery
Hot flushes, interrupted sleep and changes in weight and intimate wellbeing should not be overlooked simply because a new stage of life has begun. CALENDULA’s Women’s health programme helps you understand these changes and find personalised support during perimenopause and postmenopause.
Falling oestrogen levels can affect mucous membranes, skin, bone tissue and fat distribution. Sleep, stress and metabolism, in turn, influence the severity of symptoms. We therefore consider these issues together: gynaecological and endocrinological care is combined with nutrition, movement, body treatments and restorative practices.
Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine complement the medical part of the course. Oil treatments, acupuncture and personalised herbal support are selected for your condition, so that each part of your care fits together and feels comfortable.
Who the programme is for
- For women with hot flushes, night sweats and disturbed sleep during hormonal changes.
- For mucosal dryness, changes in libido and reduced intimate comfort.
- For weight gain, reduced muscle tone and skin changes during menopause.
- For those wishing to discuss hormone therapy and receive a coordinated plan for ongoing support.
Medical assessment and strategy
Gynaecological and endocrinological assessment. The doctor reviews your symptoms, menstrual history, previous illnesses and current medicines. This helps distinguish menopausal symptoms from other possible causes of fatigue, disturbed sleep or weight changes.
Diagnostics. When clinically necessary, assessment includes FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone, involved in egg maturation and sperm production), LH (luteinising hormone, involved in regulating ovarian and testicular function), oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin, TSH and free T4, lipid metabolism and bone health. Pelvic and breast ultrasound are selected according to symptoms and previous examination results. Tests are chosen for the clinical question, not from a mandatory checklist.
What the programme includes
Personalised treatment. Menopausal hormone therapy and other ways of relieving symptoms are discussed, considering individual benefits and risks. Herbal formulations from CALENDULA’s own laboratory complement the plan after a compatibility check; prescribing them does not automatically mean replacing hormonal medicines.
Nutrition and recovery. Attention is given to carbohydrate metabolism, preserving muscle mass, lumbosacral tension and sleep quality. Ayurvedic constitutional assessment helps select supportive treatments and dietary preferences, complementing medical findings.
Each 7-, 14- or 21-day course includes an initial assessment, an individual plan and a final consultation. Examinations and treatments are determined after assessment, taking account of indications, contraindications and compatibility between methods. Internal and intimate Ayurvedic treatments are discussed separately.
Wellbeing and intimate comfort
A one-week course for women who want to understand hot flushes, tension and intimate discomfort and begin suitable treatment. During your stay, a personalised support plan is developed with recommendations for home.
Diagnostics and treatment. Consultation with a gynaecologist-endocrinologist, necessary tests, assessment of blood pressure and symptoms. Treatment is selected or reviewed based on examination results.
Body treatments. Abhyanga is a warm-oil body massage; Mukha Abhyanga is facial massage; Padabhyanga is foot massage. Gentle manual work on the lumbosacral region and post-isometric relaxation help address muscular tension. Pelvic floor exercises are chosen after assessing its function.
Ayurveda and reflexotherapy. Kati-vasti is a local oil application to the lower back; Shirodhara is a relaxing treatment applying warm oil to the forehead. Acupuncture and suitable Zalmanov baths may be included. Virechana, which uses laxative preparations, and Yoni-pichu, a local intimate oil treatment, are possible only following a separate medical decision and do not replace treatment for gynaecological conditions.
Nutrition and care. A diet tailored to you considering carbohydrate metabolism, herbal support, an Ayurvedic Mukha-lepa mask and suitable RF skin care.
Practices. Gentle qigong, yoga therapy, pranayama breathing, sound therapy and rest in a salt room when well tolerated.
Course goals and final consultation. Assess symptom severity and response to treatment. You receive recommendations for treatment, intimate care, nutrition and home practices, with a follow-up schedule.
Hormonal wellbeing and metabolism
A self-contained two-week course focusing on menopausal symptoms, weight changes and skin condition. Longer observation allows medical care to be coordinated with nutrition and physical activity.
Diagnostics and treatment. Initial gynaecological and endocrinological assessment, necessary tests, and monitoring of blood pressure, weight and symptoms. Treatment is adjusted according to tolerance and follow-up measurements.
Nutrition and movement. A personalised menu with an appropriate glycaemic load, nutritional consultation, kinesitherapy to maintain muscle strength, qigong and breathing practices.
Body treatments. Abhyanga, including synchronised massage; Svedana, a gentle steam treatment; Udvartanam, herbal powder massage; and pressotherapy. Manual therapy, marma massage, post-isometric relaxation and foot reflexotherapy complement work on tension and mobility.
Ayurvedic support. Kati-vasti, acupuncture, suitable Zalmanov baths, personalised herbal formulations and Rasayana — traditional restorative preparations. Intimate and internal treatments are included only after a separate assessment.
Skin and rest. Mukha-lepa, RF care, Shirodhara, sound therapy and halotherapy. Discussions about menopause, bone health, nutrition and libido help you understand which habits to maintain after the course.
Course goals and final consultation. Review wellbeing and tolerance of treatment and the chosen routine. The result is a coordinated plan for treatment, nutrition, movement and care that does not require an extended stay.
Comprehensive support and sleep recovery
A three-week course for women who, alongside hormonal wellbeing, want to devote more time to sleep, metabolism and recovery after prolonged strain. It provides a complete cycle from the first examination to the final plan.
Diagnostics and treatment. Initial consultation, tests when indicated, and monitoring of symptoms, blood pressure and treatment tolerance. Tests are repeated when needed for a medical decision.
Nutrition and movement. A diet tailored to you, kinesitherapy, gentle yoga, qigong and pranayama. Practices are adapted to your wellbeing and your ability to continue them at home.
Body treatments and care. Abhyanga, Udvartanam, Padabhyanga, manual work, Svedana and pressotherapy follow an individual plan. Mukha-lepa and RF care complement skin care; herbal formulations and Rasayana are coordinated with your main treatment.
Sleep and relaxation. Shirodhara, acupuncture, warm herbal baths, yoga nidra — a practice of conscious relaxation — sound therapy, a salt room and suitable Kneipp hydrotherapy. Aromatherapy is selected according to tolerance; Nasya, the administration of preparations through the nose, requires a separate assessment.
Course goals and final consultation. Assess changes in symptoms, sleep and activity. You leave with a personalised treatment and recovery plan, home practices and a follow-up schedule. The extent of improvement varies; necessary medication continues as prescribed by your doctor.
