About the programme

Medical support during menopause, with care for wellbeing, intimate comfort and recovery

Hot flushes, disrupted sleep, changes in weight and intimate wellbeing should not be ignored simply because a new stage of life has begun. The Women’s Health programme at CALENDULA helps you understand the changes taking place and select personalised support during peri- and postmenopause.

Lower oestrogen levels can affect mucous membranes, skin condition, bone tissue and the distribution of body fat. Sleep, stress and metabolism, in turn, influence the severity of symptoms. That is why we consider these issues together: gynaecological and endocrinological care is combined with nutrition, movement, bodywork and restorative practices.

Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine complement the medical part of the course. Oil treatments, acupuncture and personalised herbal support are selected according to your condition so that care remains consistent and comfortable.

Who the programme is for

  • Women experiencing hot flushes, night sweats and sleep disturbance during hormonal transition.
  • For dryness of the mucous membranes, changes in libido and reduced intimate comfort.
  • For weight gain, reduced muscle tone and skin changes during menopause.
  • For those who want to discuss hormone therapy and receive a unified plan for ongoing support.

Medical assessment and strategy

Gynaecological and endocrinological assessment. The doctor clarifies the nature of symptoms, menstrual history, previous illnesses and current medications. This helps distinguish manifestations of menopause from other possible causes of fatigue, disturbed sleep or weight changes.

Diagnostics. As clinically required, assessment may include FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone; involved in egg maturation and sperm production), LH (luteinising hormone; involved in regulating ovarian and testicular function), oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin, TSH and free T4, lipid metabolism indicators and bone health. Pelvic and breast ultrasound is selected according to symptoms and previous examination results. The scope of investigations depends on the clinical question rather than a mandatory list of tests.

What the programme includes

Personalised therapy. Menopausal hormone therapy and other ways of relieving symptoms are discussed with individual benefits and risks in mind. Herbal formulas from CALENDULA’s own laboratory may complement the plan after compatibility is checked; their use does not automatically mean replacing hormone medicines.

Nutrition and recovery. Attention is given to carbohydrate metabolism, preservation of muscle mass, tension in the lumbosacral region and sleep quality. Ayurvedic constitutional assessment helps guide the selection of supportive procedures and dietary choices, complementing the medical data.

Each course — 7, 14 or 21 days — includes an initial assessment, an individual plan and a final consultation. The set of investigations and procedures is determined after examination, taking into account indications, contraindications and compatibility between methods. Internal and intimate Ayurvedic procedures are discussed separately.

Wellbeing and intimate comfort

A one-week course for women who want to understand hot flushes, tension and intimate discomfort and begin appropriate treatment. During the stay, a personalised support plan is developed with recommendations to follow at home.

Diagnostics and treatment. Consultation with a gynaecologist-endocrinologist, necessary investigations, and assessment of blood pressure and symptoms. Treatment is selected or reviewed according to examination results.

Bodywork. Abhyanga — a warm-oil body massage; Mukha Abhyanga — facial massage; Padabhyanga — foot massage. Gentle manual work on the lumbosacral area and post-isometric relaxation help address muscle tension. Pelvic floor exercises are selected after assessment of its function.

Ayurveda and reflexotherapy. Kati Vasti — a local oil application to the lower back; Shirodhara — a relaxing treatment with warm oil applied to the forehead area; acupuncture and suitable Zalmanov baths. Virechana, which involves the use of laxative formulations, and Yoni Pichu, a local intimate oil procedure, are possible only by separate medical decision and do not replace treatment of gynaecological conditions.

Nutrition and care. An individual diet taking carbohydrate metabolism into account, herbal support, the Ayurvedic Mukha Lepa mask and suitable RF skin care.

Practices. Gentle qigong, yoga therapy, pranayama breathing exercises, sound therapy and time in the salt room where well tolerated.

Programme goals and final consultation. To assess the severity of symptoms and the response to prescribed measures. You receive recommendations on treatment, intimate care, nutrition and home practices, with timing for follow-up.

Hormonal wellbeing and metabolism

A stand-alone two-week course focusing on menopausal symptoms, weight changes and skin condition. Longer observation makes it possible to coordinate medical care with nutrition and physical activity.

Diagnostics and treatment. Initial gynaecological and endocrinological assessment, necessary investigations, and monitoring of blood pressure, weight and symptoms. Prescribed measures are adjusted according to tolerance and follow-up indicators.

Nutrition and movement. A personalised menu with an appropriate glycaemic load, nutritional consultation, kinesitherapy to maintain muscle strength, qigong and breathing practices.

Bodywork. Abhyanga, including synchronised massage; Svedana — a gentle steam procedure; Udvartanam — massage with herbal powders; and pressotherapy. Manual therapy, marma massage, post-isometric relaxation and foot reflexology complement work on tension and mobility.

Ayurvedic support. Kati Vasti, acupuncture, suitable Zalmanov baths, personalised herbal formulas and Rasayana — traditional restorative remedies. Intimate and internal procedures are included only after a separate assessment.

Skin and rest. Mukha Lepa, RF care, Shirodhara, sound therapy and halotherapy. Discussions about menopause, bone health, nutrition and libido help clarify which habits are worth continuing after the course.

Programme goals and final consultation. To compare wellbeing, treatment tolerance and tolerance of the selected routine. The result is a coordinated plan for therapy, nutrition, movement and care that does not require an obligatory extension of the stay.

Comprehensive support and sleep recovery

A three-week course for women who, alongside hormonal wellbeing, want to devote more time to sleep, metabolism and recovery after prolonged strain. It is a complete cycle from the first assessment to the final plan.

Diagnostics and treatment. Initial consultation, investigations where indicated, and monitoring of symptoms, blood pressure and treatment tolerance. Repeat tests are performed when they are needed for a medical decision.

Nutrition and movement. Individual diet, kinesitherapy, gentle yoga, qigong and pranayama. Practices are adapted to your wellbeing and to what can realistically be continued at home.

Bodywork and care. Abhyanga, Udvartanam, Padabhyanga, manual work, Svedana and pressotherapy according to an individual plan. Mukha Lepa and RF care complement skin care; herbal formulas and Rasayana are coordinated with the main treatment.

Sleep and relaxation. Shirodhara, acupuncture, warm herbal baths, yoga nidra — a practice of conscious relaxation — sound therapy, the salt room and suitable Kneipp hydrotherapy. Aromatherapy is selected according to tolerance; Nasya, the administration of formulations through the nose, requires a separate assessment.

Programme goals and final consultation. To assess changes in symptoms, sleep and activity. You leave with a personalised treatment and recovery plan, home practices and follow-up timing. The degree of improvement varies individually; any necessary medication is continued as prescribed by the doctor.
